Gateway to Innovation (G2i) is pleased to welcome Dr. Katie Britton as the Assistant Director.

Dr. Britton began her career as a special education teacher before transitioning to general education, building a strong foundation for meeting students' diverse needs through effective classroom instruction. She holds a bachelor’s degree in special education, a master’s degree in administration and supervision, a master’s degree in instructional design and learning technology, and a doctorate in Educational Improvement Science.

For the past four years, Dr. Britton has served as a district-level Instructional Technology Coach in the School District of Pickens County, where she has supported curriculum development, technology integration, and innovative instructional practices. During this time, she launched the Mobile Learning Lab—an initiative supported by local sponsors that provides K–5 students and teachers with hands-on STEM learning experiences, including screenless coding and emerging technologies aligned with classroom instruction.

Dr. Britton is a proud graduate of Clemson University and Anderson University. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and attending sporting events. She is grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with educators who are committed to innovative teaching, real-world career connections, and the creation of impactful learning experiences for students at G2i.

As Gateway to Innovation continues to grow and develop, Dr. Britton will play an important role in supporting innovative programming and student-centered learning experiences. G2i is excited to welcome her to the team and looks forward to the impact she will make.
