The School District of Pickens County is a county-wide school system serving our community with 14 elementary schools, five middle schools, four high schools, and a state-of-the-art Career and Technology Center.

With flexible options for school choice, we are committed to working with parents to find the school that is the best fit for their child, regardless of zip code.

Accredited through AdvancED (formerly the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools), SDPC is recognized throughout the nation as a "Quality School System."  Our annual enrollment of approximately 16,500 students positions SDPC as the 12th largest school district in South Carolina, and our students consistently rank near the top of the state in academic achievement.

Located in the northwestern section of South Carolina, Pickens County is home to a unique blend of small towns, vibrant suburbs, leading universities, and natural beauty. The terrain varies from steep mountains in the north, including the state's highest mountain, Sassafras Mountain, to gently rolling hills in the south. The waters of Lake Hartwell, Lake Keowee, and Lake Jocassee comprise the western boundary of the county. The cities of Central, Clemson, Easley, Liberty, and Pickens each bring their own share of pride and charm to our county.

In 2014, the district completed a building program which included brand new buildings for all four high schools, two elementary schools (Dacusville Elementary and Liberty Primary School), and the Pickens County Career and Technology Center. The program also included extensive renovations and additions for all five middle schools, as well as improvements to other elementary schools across the district.
