I began working with the School District of Pickens County's Parenting & Family Literacy Program in September 1996. I have served as the adult education instructor, assistant Coordinator, and Facilitator.
I receive a Bachelor's of Arts in Elementary Education from Anderson University in December 1995. I am certified in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I received a Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Phoenix in 2006 and a Masters in Administration and Supervision in 2008.
I am a member of the South Carolina Early Childhood Association (SCECA) and currently serve as treasurer for the SCECA District 5 board. I am also a member of SECA ( Southern Early Childhood Association).
My family and faith are very important to me. I have been married to Mike for 40 years. I have one son, Michael (a 1997 graduate of Pickens High School). He is a neurologist in Athens, Georgia. He is married to Brenda, and they have three children, Lucas (12), Brayden (10), and Bryson (8). I am a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pickens, SC.
I love working for the Parenting & Family Literacy Program. I truly believe that children begin learning at birth, and that parents are their child's first and most important teacher.
